PNCA is an autonomous body in the orbit of the Ministry of National Heritage & Integration, Government of Pakistan. It was created by an Act of Parliament in 1973.Its an Apex Cultural body functioning on a national level. Activities are performed on the basis of policies framed by its Board of Governors headed by the Minister for National Heritage & Integration and comprising of 28 members.Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA)is is funded by the Ministry of Culture of Pakistan which is package of entertainment including exhibitions, theater plays, music and special events in four story recently build stowed with state of art faciities.It is situated in sector F-5/1 and regularly hosts events as Gallery of Arts, Drama Festivals, Musical Nights, Puppet Shows, Sculpture Exhibitions, and Movie Screenings through various means:

Functions of PNCA

  • Advise the Federal Government on matters of policy on artistic activity and their implementation.
  • Co-ordinate, evaluate and supervise activities of cultural organizations and individuals engaged in cultural activities.
  • Advise and assist the Provincial Governments in setting up of Provincial Arts Councils to serve as liaison between the local cultural bodies and council with regard to their activities.
  • Plan, establish and run art academies, folk museums, exhibition halls, auditoria, art galleries and similar other institutions.
  • Organize exhibitions of arts and crafts within Pakistan and other countries.
  • Organize and promote cultural fairs and festivals.
  • Help, establish and organize national unions of artists on the basis of their chosen field of activity.
  • Help in implementation of cultural pacts and programmes on directions of the Federal Government.
  • Have contacts with similar organizations in other countries, through the Federal Government.
  • Set up panels of experts in specific fields of the arts where necessary.
  • Perform any other function in the field of arts which the Federal Government may direct or which the Council may consider necessary or desirable.
