Pir Sohawa is a rapidly developing tourist resort It has a 3000 plus ft elevation and located in Monal village which is geographically part of Haripur District. Pir Sohawa is a popular destination among the residents of Islamabad, as well as the foreign tourists.Pir Sohawa at an elevation of about 5000 feet, is a picturesque site, admired for leisure walk and trips in Islamabad and is located close to Monal village which exists on the slope towards Islamabad city. Actually Pir Sohawa is a village situated in District Haripur, Khyber Pakhtunkhaw, Pakistan. A restaurant named as “Monal Restaurant” is sited at Pir Sohawa site. Monal Restaurant was completed in 2006. Its airy terraces give a magnificent view of Islamabad in clear day light and a gorgeously striking show of the city lights at the bottom, after sunset. One can enjoy the breeze and delicate scent, especially during summer’s hot days, of thick forest present all around. .

Monal restaurant, named after a pheasant of rare and exquisite beauty, and located at the hilltop offers great food and its spacious terraces provides a spectacular view of the city of Islamabad. Beside the hotel toward east is Tilla Grani a 1181 meter / 3874 feet high peak, easy to walk on.

Ideal Place

The sight is an ideal place for enjoying picnics in forest while listening to singing birds and watching wildlife. After rains of monsoon forest in the hills of Pir Sohawa turns green. The sight is end point for hiking trips from the foot of Margla Hills, rising 3000 feet (914 meters) almost vertically upward from the Saidpur Village, Islamabad.
